2019 Charlotte 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

The Z Team will "Never Forget"

Join the Z Team for the 9/11 Stair Climb honoring the memory of fallen first responders! $40 covers your registration and includes a t-shirt.

WHEN: Sat, 9/14 @ 8am

WHERE: Duke Energy Center, uptown Charlotte

This is a civilian team, so plan to wear comfortable exercise/running gear and expect it to be hot and sweaty the entire time! Water and sports drinks are provided by support teams throughout the climb.

This is not a race, it's a group climb so on Sat morning, 9/14 after an emotional and moving ceremony honoring the fallen heroes, we'll stay together as a team to ascend the Duke Energy Center bottom to top TWICE (100 floors) then 10 more floors to complete the 110 story climb at the outdoor atrium lobby on the 10th floor. Team photos are taken up there before we leave.

The team will to head to OMB afterwards for a few celebratory beers so bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Fundraising beyond the $40 entry fee is optional but encouraged. You can simply share this link with your friends, family and social networks if you'd like to raise additional funds.

The Charlotte Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is not a timed race event, but a way for firefighters and the community to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live.

Each participant pays tribute to a FDNY firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of an FDNY brother, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others.

Through firefighter and community participation we can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters is honored and that the world knows that we will never forget. The proceeds of these events help the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation create and maintain programs that support fire service survivors.

Your support of the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb provides assistance to the surviving families and co-workers of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
