Chip Choquette -- Raising Funds for the NFFF
This year, I am supporting the OC 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb as a Virtual Climber. Due to a conflicting commitment, I can't be there the day of the climb. I made the climb in Wildwood, NJ on 9/16 but my goal is to continue to support my team at our "home" event.
110 stories is no joke, and our team takes it wearing full firefighter gear and breathing apparatus. We climb because they climbed -- and because #NeverForget means Never Forgetting!
I greatly appreciate the support I was fortunate to receive last year -- and hope to continue that trend this year. Help me raise funds to support those that were left behind by our fallen brothers and sisters. Your gift of $5, $10 -- or more will allow me to quickly crush my goal of $110, just $1 for each floor I will climb.
The Ocean City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is not a timed race event, but a way for firefighters and the community to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live.
Each participant pays tribute to a FDNY firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of an FDNY brother, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others. Through firefighter and community participation we can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters is honored and that the world knows that we will never forget.
The proceeds of these events help the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation create and maintain programs that support fire service survivors. Your support of the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb provides assistance to the surviving families and co-workers of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
